The sticker says it all: a lot of Venetians are tired with the increasing amount of cruise ships in the lagune. Some started a campaign to get rid of the huge ships that spit out enormous amounts of tourists. The photo featuring this article was taken on a vaporetto. The sticker was attached next to the entrance with seats. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Venice earns a lot of money through the cruise ships. The harbour fee is over a ton a day and they see to bringing a lot of tourists into town, spending their money. However, they also bring pollution. Literally and figuratively since it is a weird sight: the gigantic, modern ships cruising through the lagune next to the old town. Sometimes they even pass through the Bacino San Marco. This is an amazing sight, see for yourself.<\/p>\n
